I don't usually do much in the way of poetry,  but this week I was struck by inspiration, so I wrote, and this was the result:

Once upon a time,
In days of yore,
It all began
As it begins once more.

I happened to have an idea for a new series this weekend. The stories will be short and I'll update whenever I get inspiration, but there will be an over arching plot.

The lake sparkled reflecting the rising sun's light on its glassy surface. Gentle waves lapped at the shore, kissing the wet stone before darting away. A small hand clutched a smooth pebble. Bright blue eyes examined the little stone, appraising it, attempting to extract its secrets.

“What do you have there?” a scruffy man in battered old clothes crouched beside her.

“A stone.” she replied simply, without looking up from the object.

I haven't posted in a while... I'll get better about that. This is another one of my older stories. It's short a bit on the short side.

She sat on a lonely cliff and stared at the dark sky, scanning it for some sign of the sun. The wind howled and the air was bitter cold, but she didn’t seem to notice. The sky was pitch black but, thankfully, there were other ways to count time during the long cold night. The idea of her getting off of sunrise-cliff to ask a time-keeper would have been laughable had she considered it. Her eyes never left the dark horizon, she never even blinked. If she did then there was a possibility she might miss the sun’s appearance, or even worse, it would never appear at all.

This is an idea I've had for a while that I wrote relatively recently and posted on my old blog. It's nowhere near as long as "A Stranger at the Door" and I don't think it's as good, but I think it's worth posting, as an interesting concept if nothing else.

This is it, the second and final part of "A Stranger at the Door". Feel free to tell me what you think!
After this I will be posting a (much shorter) story once a week, or every other week, depending, so be sure to tune in on Sundays to check that out.
Again, without further ado, enjoy!

This is it, the "Grand Opening" of To Bring Words to Life, and it's a long one. It also happens to be my Halloween story for this year and the first story of my Futuresight series, of which there will be more stories in the future. I'm sorry for the delay, but the timing had to be just right!
The second part is now up!
Without further ado, enjoy!

You may walk through the city, amidst the roar of car engines and the waves of conversation that wash over you as you pass. With each step you take, your feet slap against cold hard concrete, passing stores and houses. Everything so familiar that you may not even see it at all.

If you walk through the city one day, you may see a young man sitting on a bench. He'll seem fairly average, his tattered clothes and worn backpack telling of hard times, but there's something about him that will draw and hold your attention, pulling you towards him.
