I happened to have an idea for a new series this weekend. The stories will be short and I'll update whenever I get inspiration, but there will be an over arching plot.

The lake sparkled reflecting the rising sun's light on its glassy surface. Gentle waves lapped at the shore, kissing the wet stone before darting away. A small hand clutched a smooth pebble. Bright blue eyes examined the little stone, appraising it, attempting to extract its secrets.

“What do you have there?” a scruffy man in battered old clothes crouched beside her.

“A stone.” she replied simply, without looking up from the object.

They sat in silence, he watched as she turned the pebble over in her hands.

“Where are your parents?” the man asked suddenly.

She turned towards him and affixed him with an unblinking stare. After a moment's pause, she replied, “I don't know.”

“It's not safe for a young lady such as yourself to be all alone here. Say, what's your name?”

“I don't have one.” she said, her gaze unwavering.

He laughed, a loud rolling laugh that burst forth from his stomach, to echo through the eerily quiet garden. Eventually his laughter subsided and silence fell, more audible than before.

“You must have a name.” he said between chuckles.

She shook her head and insisted, “I don't have one.”

The man's expression fell for an instant, his wild grin turned to a frown of confusion. But he soon came to his conclusion and his mile returned fast as it had vanished.

“Then what do people call you?” he asked indulgently.

It was her turn to give a look of utter confusion, “T-they don't.”

“Theydont sure is a strange name for a little lady.”

“I don't have a name.” she insisted, her confusion turned to frustration.

“If you don't tell me your name, I can't help you find your parents.”

“I don't want to find my parents.”

“They must be worried. You can't just stay here alone.” he grabbed her arm

Her eyes flashed dangerously, but he held fast. Her small form turned into energy that sparkled pure white. She began to morph until she was a giant beast towering over the cheery garden.

“I DON'T WANT TO FIND MY PARENTS!!!!” she roared, her voice boomed, shaking everything around her.

The man stumbled to his feet.
